Move Over to the New Version of Blogger

The invitation to move over to the New Version of Blogger was inevitable, however many of you have waited until it was mandatory. I was very hesitant to switch over myself after hearing what others had gone through on the Blogger Help Forums referring to Beta Blogger. Now that Beta Blogger is no more, I hope the move was a success for you.

Making the switch over to the New Version of Blogger in early January, I found everything remained the same Classic Template I was using before making the switch to the New Version of Blogger. I noticed in the dashboard where you Manage your blog that all of my blogs were still showing the Template instead of the Layout, therefore I was still using the Classic Template even after switching over to the New Version of Blogger.

Two weeks ago I decided to switch to the "Customize Design" template and start using the New Version of Blogger features for my Beta Bloggers Resources blog. This is when I lost all the add ons! I had to redo everything all over again, adding the sidebar links, the widget, RSS feed, site meter and Google ads to the new Customized Design Template. Since it was a fairly new blog, there wasn't that much to redo. I sure do like the organization of the labels showing up in the sidebar. I think it will make it much faster and easier for you to find the topic of interest using the labels. Check it out and let me know how you like it, if you prefer, you can also use the Site Map to view all posts.

I have step-by-step instructions for helping you add links, customize your template settings, expandable post summaries and much more using the New Version of Blogger. If you have any questions or suggestions for learning something else, please send me an email and I will do my best to find the answers for you.

I'm hearing from some other bloggers that it was a shock to loose their links/blogrolls and add ons in the sidebar and footer of their blog. If you choose to use the Customize Design for your template to get the new features and have lost all your links or add ons, all you need to do is "Revert to Classic Template" and have them all magically reappear.

For those of you who prefer to stay with using the Classic Template after making the move over to the New Version of Blogger, you will find helpful tips and step-by-step instructions specifically for using the Classic Template at Classic Blogger Resource Site Map

Hey Sherry,
Thank you, thank you! I have made so much progress with my blog since I came across your site. Actually I deleted my first site, "Regina's Open Forum". I need to concentrate on ONE at a time. I took your advice clicked on the link you sent me to and now I have your blog listed on my site. I'm so excited. I am going to keep my jokes page and place it on my second site. but I think that I'll limit it to computer jokes, they work with the blog.
Again, thank you, thank you.

gee,
I'm so glad to hear that you made progress this morning.

I enjoyed your joke page and then it was gone, wondered what happened.

Keep in touch!
