Customize Settings in New Blogger

Updated information for The New Version of Blogger

Go to your dashboard and click on Settings Tab - Customize each of these settings to your preference, they are all self-explanatory....

  • Basic - Describe the theme of your blog. Answer Yes to the next questions under the Basic Tab unless you want your blog to be private.
  • Publishing - Notify Weblog should be marked as Yes to track any changes you make such as a new post.
  • Formatting - Shows the number of posts or days on the main page of your blog. Other topics include Timestamp, Language, Show Title and Link Fields for each post.
  • Comments - To enable comments on your blog, you will need to check the appropriate box or circle listed. Provide your email address so you can be notified when someone leaves you a comment. You will be given a choice to moderate your comments, you can choose to publish or reject it. The word verification should be set to No (in my opinion) unless you are having trouble with SPAM comments. Remember to always acknowledge your visitors with a response on your blog. Visit their blog and leave a positive comment, this will give you a link to their site also.
  • Archiving - Archive Frequency can be Daily, Weekly, Monthly or No Archive at all. Enable Post Pages to Yes
  • Site Feed - Select Full to syndicate your content or you can choose to set it at Short or None. Feed Item Footer will appear after each post in your Site Feed. If you use Google AdSense you can place the code in this footer area to show in your Site Feed. You must also set 'Enable Post Pages to Yes and set Blog Feed to Full.
  • Email - BlogSend Address will send you a copy of your most recent post by email whenever you publish a new post (this also serves as a backup to you blog).
  • Permissions - Add other authors here to provide a team effort on your blog
Go to the bottom of each page to Save Settings if you have made any changes. Read each one and become familiar with them as you may want to change them in the future.

Hi Sherry,

Still not been able to have comments on my blog. I'm confused I did everything described in the settings section. I really do not know how comes.

I must be overseeing a detail... I suppose.

Isabel,
Thanks for your comment. I will continue to look at other options for you to get comments on your blog. One thought is to change templates or revert to classic template. Keep me posted on how you are doing.

Colazione da biffany,
Thanks for your comment, I'm happy to hear this was useful information for you.

Thanks for your help, Sherry! Comments are now working. I had to go into each of my previous posts (or the 7 that showed on the first page) and adjust the "post options" at the bottom to "Allow comments."

city of brisbane,
You're so welcome for the help. You are so right when you checked the post options in each individual post to allow comments. Thanks for sharing what worked for you.
