A checklist for new bloggers was inspired by visiting BloggerTalk. After reading a post by truthdancer mentioning a checklist in the order of importance would be beneficial for new bloggers.
Here is a checklist for you to follow if you are still using the Classic Blogger template Helpful Resources for New Bloggers. The step-by-step instructions for adding HTML code into the template are based on using the Classic Template. If you have The New Version of Blogger, you can't switch back to Classic Blogger but you can Revert Back to the Classic Template and use these same methods explained here.
I have updated the first 5 topics of this list to be relevant for The New Version of Blogger. You can manage your blogs by going to the dashboard, click on Layout and Add a Page Element for adding a List, Link list, Picture, Text, HTML/JavaScript, AdSense, Feed, Labels, Logo.
I don't believe you need to follow the exact order of this list however this is only the beginning of things you'll want to do with your new blog. You may also want to review Beta Bloggers Resources Site Map for other topics of interest.
